Help with Skyward

Four addresses, so a message lands with the right thing. All of them are read by a person.

support@unichat.dev Something went wrong: a bug, a lost save, a purchase that did not arrive.
request@unichat.dev Press, business, review copies, and anything you would like us to build.
privacy@unichat.dev Your data: a copy of it, a correction, or a deletion.
legal@unichat.dev The terms, notices, and anything meant for the record.

Reporting something broken

The reports worth the most are the ones about a jump that should have landed, or a death you could not explain.

Four things make one fixable:

  • The level number, or Endless if it was a record run.
  • What you were doing in the second before it went wrong.
  • Your player identifier, which Settings shows and lets you copy.
  • Your phone and its operating system version.

A screen recording is worth all four together. Send it to support@unichat.dev.

Common questions

When can I play it?
Skyward is in development for iOS and Android and is not in either store yet. There is no public test at the moment. Write to request@unichat.dev if you would like to hear when there is one.
What do I need to play it?
A phone, one hand, and a couple of minutes. It is portrait, it is played with a thumb, and a level is short enough for a bus stop.
Can I play offline?
Yes. The whole campaign works with no connection at all, and you do not need an account to start.
Will my progress survive a new phone?
Progress that lives only on the phone leaves with the phone. Signing in from Settings keeps it with your account instead, and it comes back when you sign in again.
I paid for something and did not get it
Write to support@unichat.dev with the date and what you bought, and it will be sorted out by hand. Refunds themselves are handled by the store you bought from, because the store takes the payment and we never see it.
How do I delete my account and my data?

Settings, then Delete my account, and confirm. It closes the account permanently, deletes your saved progress and device records, and anonymises your profile. It also erases what is on the phone, including if you were never signed in.

Deleting does not lock you out. You can start again straight away. Section 7 of the privacy policy lists exactly what is deleted, what is anonymised and what is kept.

Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes, from inside the game and without asking anybody. Settings, then Profile, then Get a copy of my data writes a file called skyward-my-data.json that you can open or share from your phone's own files app. For anything the export does not cover, write to privacy@unichat.dev.
How do notifications work?

Every reminder Skyward sends is scheduled on your own device. There is no push server and no notification token, so nothing about when or why you are reminded ever leaves your phone.

At most one a day, never between 22:00 and 09:00 your local time, and every pending reminder is cancelled the moment you open the game. Turn them off in Settings, then Notifications, at no cost to anything else.

How old do I have to be?
13 or over. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. Parents and guardians who believe a child under 13 has been playing should write to privacy@unichat.dev, and the account and its data will be deleted.
Can I stream it or put it in a video?
Yes. Let's plays, streams, screenshots and clips are welcome and you do not need to ask. If you want art or a build, write to request@unichat.dev.
